About the Artist
Rita Romero is a contemporary realist artist working in oil and soft pastel to create fine art paintings and commissioned portraits. Born in Tucson, Arizona, Rita began drawing and painting at an early age, winning her first award in a high school art competition. Her artistic journey and continual search to achieve a balance of craftsmanship and artistic expression has been heavily influenced by the work of recognized Masters of classical realism. Romero's work has been featured in numerous national juried art competitions and won many awards. Her work has been exhibited in the Triton Museum of Art and the Haggin Museum of Art, as well as the M.K. Sloan and Edith Lambert art galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
